Cat and Dog Spinal Manipulative Therapy in Countryside
Countryside Veterinary Center is fortunate to offer veterinary spinal manipulative therapy, or VSMT. This therapy is similar to chiropractic care that humans receive, but it is performed by a veterinarian. A veterinarian certified in VSMT can help animals in many ways, including decreasing pain, improving neurologic conditions, lessening arthritic pains, and improving overall performance and longevity. This treatment modality can also be an important preventative health care option; your dog or cat need not be injured, unhealthy, or a specific age to receive VSMT.

What to Expect at a VSMT Appointment
A VSMT session involves a specialized exam with motion palpation and manipulation of different joints. Pets often enjoy these sessions, and your dog or cat may even feel noticeably better leaving the appointment!
Pets That Benefit from VSMT
Dogs and cats who will likely benefit from VSMT may display one of the following:
- Changes in gait
- Decreased activity
- Arthritis
- Immune system weakness and allergies
- Vestibular disease
- Constipation
- Working, performance, and agility animals
